Fraternity News
The Louisville and Ohio State Chapters have taken advantage of the Fraternity’s Graduate Advisor Program to give their members every advantage. The mission of the Graduate Advisor Program is to create and maintain a sound educational environment that fosters the development of college men. The primary responsibility of a graduate advisor is to act as a facilitator for the chapter and to enhance the educational development of each member. Brothers Zachary M. Eckels, Louisville ’99, and Jonathan M. Rhoades, Miami ’98, have accepted the challenge.
Jonathan Rhoades received a B.S. in Applied Science in May 1998 from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. His major was Systems Analysis. Upon graduation, he was accepted into the Fisher College of Business MBA Program at Ohio State University. He is currently in his second and final year of the program, pursuing a double major in Marketing Strategy and IT Consulting. This will be his second year serving as a Graduate Advisor for the Ohio State Chapter of Delta Upsilon.

Yet the concept to help strengthen the academic achievement of our brothers and the educational resources available to them, proved to be an enduringly worthy mission. Brother Nesbitt’s leadership role within the Foundation was undertaken by his protege and friend,1. Paul McNamara, Miami ’29.
From 1949 until his death in 1994, Brother McNamara was a tireless advocate for the Educational Foundation and the role he knew it played in impacting the lives of young DU brothers.
In this year’s Annual Report of the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation, we celebrate visionary brothers such as Hugh Nesbitt and Paul McNamara, and those who through gifts of time and financial resources continue the tradition of strong stewardship which the Foundation enjoys today.

Award Recipients
The Miami Chapter of Delta Upsilon led the way on their campus with academic recognition based on chapter grade point averages above the All Men’s GPA for Spring and Fall 1998. Awards given to DU by Miami University were the Chapter Academic Excellence Award and the Dean’s Achievement Award.

Alumni Updates
Charles M. Schrey, Miami ’82, is Vice President of Transitions II of Mountain View, California. He received his MBA from Canisius College in 1991. Charles has been a database marketing consultant with Transitions II for the past year, managing client accounts in Silicon Valley. His responsibilities included designing and administering marketing databases and consulting on their use in marketing campaigns to customers and prospects.
Brother Schrey was also a contributor to Guy Kawasaki’s latest book, Rules for Revolutionaries – The Capitalist Manifesto for Creating and Marketing New Products and Services.
